What to do in and around Bangsaen

If this is your first time in Bangsaen, we are sure it won't be your last!There's plenty to see, plenty to do in Bangsaen. Being in the centre of Amhpur Muang (the capital of Chonburi province) makes Bangsaen a good location, being only 10km from Chonburi city centre.

Laemthong Shopping Mall on the main Bangsaen road will open very soon.
This newly re-developed  version of Laemthong will give residents the chance to browse many high quality retail outlets over more than six floors.

Aquaruim at Burapha University (In the institute of marine science) The aquarium was originally opened in 1969, and was expanded in 1980 with the help of a large grant from the government of Japan. The aquarium was built as an educational center, and houses 180 species of fish. The species of fish on display are varied, and the quality of the displays and aquariums and flora is on a good level. Here you can see real coral reef, and seaweed growing in sand.

Monkey Mountain - Khao Samuk Take a trip up here for the novelty, see the greedy monkeys who are rather cheeky in their demand for food. Although steep, the mountain isn’t very high so it only takes about five minutes to get to where the monkeys hang out. The walk is also sheltered by lush trees. There is a sacred tree just before you find the monkeys, which is covered with pink strips of material, tied around its thick trunk, as a show of respect as an older tree.

Nong Mon Market This market is located on Sukhumvit Road in Bangsaen and has gained popularity over the years. Nong Mon Market offers a vast variety of locally produced seafood products such as fish, squid, and shrimp, both fresh and preserved. In addition, sweets and other local sweetmeats are also popular with the most popular item being Khao Larm a traditional thai-style dessert cooked and served in a bamboo tube.

Chatuchak Market From around 5pm to 10pm (closed Monday & Tuesday) Has almost everything for sale at this regular Thai market. Wander around and see all the bargain you can find, from copy designer jeans to, well, anything! Food stalls give you the chance to try some real Thai food.

Beyond Bangsaen

Sri Racha Tiger Farm Sriracha Tiger Zoo covers an area of more than 100 acres. The zoo consists of more than 200 Bengal tigers and 100,000 crocodiles. Visitors can experience natural touch and enjoy the close company of tamed animals.

Ko Loy (Floating Island) Situated on a little rocky islet a few kilometers from the mainland of Sri Racha is Ko Loy (Floating Island), a Thai-Chinese Buddhist temple that was originally accessible only at low tide. Nowadays, a concrete paved bridge connects Koh Loy with the mainland and serves as a ferry pier.

Ko Sichang Off the coast of Sri Racha is the small island of Ko Sichang that formerly contained King Rama V’s favorite summer palace and used to be a customs checkpoint. Now it is a relatively quiet place with some architectural ruins and guesthouses.

Elephant Village The Elephant Village provides the magnificent creatures with a safe haven. A visit to the Elephant Village is not only a unique experience, but it is also a lifesaver because the fees paid by visitors contribute to survival of the elephants.

Crocodile Farm & Million Years Stone Park Located on an over-70-acre piece of land, this Park & Farm is a new striking tourist attraction created with more than 20 years' efforts, for all nature lovers. It also offers you several kinds of amusing and exciting shows.

Mini Siam Village Mini Siam is a re-creation in miniature of many of Thailand's major tourist attractions, as well as reconstructions structures from the past. Here you'll find copies of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha from Bangkok, the ancient Khmer temple of Phimai in Nakorn Ratchisima province and many more.

Underwater World Pattaya At Underwater World Pattaya, visitors are taken on a ‘voyage to the bottom of the sea’, which begins at the sandy beaches and shallow rock pools at the water’s edge. From here, they start their descent, passing brightly colored corals and all kinds of exotic ocean-dwellers along the way.

Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens Nong Nooch Tropical Garden & Resort is well known to those who want to take in an impressive Thai Cultural Show and find the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast Asia.
The Elephant Show is one of the most popular attractions here. Ko Samet Spend a day or more on Ko Samet, two hours form Bangsaen. The ferry leaves from near Mae Phim regularly.

Ko Chang 4 hours from Bangsaen you will find a lost paradise, the tropical island of Ko Chang. White sand beaches, waterfalls, coral reefs and an archipelago of more than 50 islands.
